This long awaited game will be the first Halo game, aside from the Halo: CE Anniversary, that will not be made by Bungie. Instead the game will be produced by 343 Industries, which was established by Microsoft for the Halo series, and has employed many Bungie employees. According to 343i, this game will have a much bigger focus on Master Chief's life, and his background. "Most of the exploration that we've done on Master Chief has been done through other media outside of the game," says Frank O'Connor, franchise development director, in a behind the scenes video. "It’s been done through comic books, novels. We wanted to put it squarely in the video game this time."
This game will mark the start of a new trilogy.
"We are beginning a new saga with Halo 4 and embarking on a journey that will encompass the next decade of Halo games and experiences," said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios. "Millions of fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to step back into the boots of Master Chief, and, with Halo 4 leading the charge, we’re confident 2012 will be the most successful year in Xbox history."
Halo 4 will have some competition on it's release date, especialy with the new Call of Duty game and GTA 5 being released. Halo 3 generated $170 million within 24 hours, let's see if Halo 4 can meet that standard.
